About Me

BACP registered counsellor in Swansea, Wales.

Eve Wydenbach MPhil , BA, Dip in Counselling is also accredited by the Counselling Society and registered with the UK & Ireland Directory of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I am a professionally trained and qualified integrative counsellor which means that I use the skills and techniques of more than one therapy – Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person-centred Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy. I believe strongly that no one single approach works for every client in every situation and this approach allows me to select the best method for each client.

I work to the BACP Professional Code of Ethics and Practice. I am committed to continual professional development and have regular supervision sessions with an experienced supervisor.

Eve

Person Centred Counselling:
based on a theory that the client is his/her own authority on their own experience and providing non-judgemental conditions in which the client can explore what they need and want.

Psychodynamic Counselling:
works by exploring unconscious thoughts and feelings emphasising the influence of the past.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy:
a structured approach developed to help clients solve their problems caused by 'distorted' thinking which can affect how the client behaves and feels.

The approach selected will be based on what suits you best.

I have been a voluntary counsellor for a number of organisations: CISS, DIAL and Serenity. For the last twenty years I have been a lecturer at a local college in Swansea where I have been able to help many young people through my personal tutoring. Currently I lecture there on business and counselling courses.
